En 1755, les autorités britanniques ont expulsé par la force plus de 6000 Acadiens qui demeuraient en Nouvelle-Écosse et en Acadie française (aujourd'hui le Nouveau-Brunswick). Les soldats ont séparé les familles et les ont embarquées sur des bateaux à destination des colonies américaines. Mais le plan des Britanniques n'était pas parfait. Les Acadiens ont résisté!
